This is the story of the day Fiona & Paul got married..I am so excited I got to photograph their wedding and am honoured to have stood up along side them as a bridesmaid as as they promised their forever to each other! This OOOOOH so gorgeous invite was designed by Becky Sutherland (becky@quist.ca) Naphtali Carleton is an AMAZING Halifax based makeup artist and were were so stoked to have her there with us helping us get ready! The prettiest flower crown I have ever seen by Chelsea Lee Flowers! Jessica Fletcher-Marmot did our hair that day and this is probably one of my FAV bridal do’s of ALL time! LOVE it! Just in case you guys haven’t seen Fiona & Paul’s NZ engagement shoot This STUNNING ring is custom designed by paul for fi! I absolutely love catching real, honest and beautiful moments… My favourite thing about Paul’s outfit is that most of it’s from an OP Shop (thrift store) in NZ! The incredible hand sewn custom tie was created by Nova Scotia’s own East of Ordinary! The rain did not stop them! This has to win bouquet of the year! Chelsea Lee Flowers created this gorgeous arrangement with blooms from Fiona’s and Paul’s mothers gardens and ferns foraged from the forest! The maids! I LOVE the white on white on white here! Gorgeous sisters! It rained a lot. Thank goodness for a trunk full of umbrellas!:) I absolutely adore these next few shots right before Fiona leaves for the chapel! The wedding was supposed to take place down in the forest but the rain changed the plans. Plan B was perfect and cozy in this little country chapel that was right beside the Brides home. They had the BEST recessional ever! The entire wedding party line up down the isle and Fiona and Paul had to hit a ball (croquet) down the isle through as many legs as they could! I believe the amount of hits it took determined how many kids they are going to have;p These next 3 photos are a few of the awesome shots Trevor got! Seriously love this family! (best sibling shot ever!) After the ceremony and family photos were over we took Fi and Paul down into the woods where they were originally going to have their ceremony. They had a few minutes to just ‘be’ in this gorgeous outdoor clearing…. One of my favourite photos of the stunning bride… At this point after the ceremony the rain had cleared up enough that we were able to go get a wedding party photo! I also had Trevor with me shooting at this point which was helpful as David and I were BOTH in the wedding party!:) This is a shot Trevor took! Its one of my favs of his that day!:) Warning: All the gorgeous details you are about to see are either handmade, homegrown or foraged/collected…:) Fiona and Paul actually met when they were 4! Little did they know they would re-meet again at 16 fall in love and then re-meet again at 30 and get married!!! Praying for dinner. It was stone fired pizzas…i was smiling too! Stonefired pizzas! SUCH an amazing idea for the wedding feast! Some of the best desserts I have ever eaten in my life were at this wedding! I pretty much died and went to heaven when I ate the passion fruit curd pavlova! Manual Food & Drink Co rocked the desserts and coffee bar! I have to say it was a pretty awesome/hilarious dance party!!! Even Dr John McNab (father of the bride) was out on the dance floor! The awesomeness of this party may have been a reflection of just how awesome all the people were…or it could have been a direct result of Shad’s mad DJ skills!;p WHAT an epic day and great way to end a night!!:)
